DAY TRIP TO ARUNDEL   Saturday 17th June 2017
Posted 27th February 2017

It would be a coach trip by Buzzlines and if we get enough members to go they will pickup from the club. Otherwise it will be Hythe for a pickup.

The castle at Arundel is spectacular and there is also a medieval four nations tournament in the grounds of the castle.
Other places of interest in the town are:
Arundel Cathedral, the town of Arundel and the River Arun, Arundel Museum, Arundel Photographica, St Nicholas Parish Church and many other places to see and photograph

The photographic opportunities on this day trip would be Historical Building photography, Garden & Grounds photography, Portrait photography, Action & Panning photography, Town & Street photography and River & Water photography.

The price per person is £46 which includes:
Coach travel to and from Arundel and entrance to the Castle & the Medieval Tournament.
If paying for this on your own it is £20 just for the castle.

(The price of £29 on the Buzzlines site is just a day trip to Arundel only).

Ernie Goodyear, MBE   Posted 26th September 2013

Members will be sad to hear of the death of Ernie earlier this month. He was a founder member of the club, committee member and projectionist for a number of years. He bought the club’s first projector and donated a challenge cup. Always ready with a light hearted quip, he enjoyed club meetings greatly.

Although a competent straight photographer, Ernie’s real interest was in producing composite pictures using photographs of models and figurines, sometimes based on mini scenes set up in his garden. His work often perplexed the more traditional judges but certainly made them think and it was always imaginative.

He was awarded the MBE for his money raising work on behalf of children’s charities. Sadly, ill health prevented his attendance in later years but he will be remembered for his sense of fun and the contributions he made during the early years of the clubs existence.

Club Exhibition in St Mary’s Bay   Posted 3rd April 2012
We have our first exhibition showing in St Mary’s Bay Church for 5 days straight after Easter. It will run from Easter Bank Holiday Monday 9th April until Friday 13th from 9am to 5pm each day, except Wednesday when it starts at 10 am due to the midweek service. For those that don’t know, the church is on the other side of the road to the club and a bit closer to the sea, down a little alley behind the houses.
Please come and support the club and we look forward to seeing you.

Get Your Mounts Made For Prints In St Mary’s Bay
Did you know that you can get your mounts made professionally, over the road from the club, for as little as NOTHING for the cutting!
You can take your own board along and pay £1 for the hole and the outside size cut to your exact measurements by a machine, or you can buy the board from the shop (cheaper than most places) and get the cutting done for FREE.
The shop is on the corner opposite, and doesn’t have a name at present and appears to be a junk shop, but at the back of the shop is a professional framer. Charles’ days and hours that he is there can be rather eratic and it is best to phone him first on 07956 129582, though there is often someone else in the shop. He should be there on Tuesdays and Fridays after 10.30am.
Sometimes, he will be able to do the cutting while you wait, other times you may have to wait a week.
