Our Hall

Welcome to the headquarters of the St. Mary’s Bay Camera Club.

Constructed in 1995 and extended in 1998, St. Mary’s Bay Village Hall has been the centre point of the surrounding area since its construction. Located just a few hundred metres from the sandy beach of St. Mary’s Bay and the A259 coast road, this attractive modern building stands in its own grounds with car parking just outside the door and offers some of the best facilities of its kind on Romney Marsh.

The present building is the result of many years of fund raising activities carried out by a large number of local people who have given their time and support to this project over the years.

Our address is: St. Mary’s Bay Camera Club,

The car park

Car parking at the Village Hall is right outside the door.

This is a view of the back of the building; a close inspection reveals not one but three halls of varying size, known as the Annexe, Main Hall, and Committee Room. Each of the three halls is fully equipped with their own kitchen and toilet facilities and proves a tailor-made solution to the needs of the St. Mary’s Bay Camera Club.

If you would like to come along and spend a Thursday evening with us, from September 2013 we will be in the Main Hall. This is the middle hall and is the biggest of the three. We meet here on most Thursday evenings from mid September until mid May, with access at 7.45pm for an 8pm meeting. See our programme for details.

This hall is equiped with a stage and sound system and large kitchen. It has plenty of room for studio group meetings and for all types of events and competitions when camera clubs throughout Kent & East Sussex (and further afield sometimes) come and spend a day with us here at St. Mary’s Bay.

At the far end of the building is The Committe Room, which was our home for many years. Now we have outgrown it but it was an ideal place to meet on a cold winter evenings and includes a fitted projector screen.
We still use the store behind the room for our various items of equipment and club library.

Finally, there is the Annexe which is the second largest of the three halls and is the first hall you pass when you enter the car park. The Annexe can be incorporated into the Main Hall via doors for large functions.

We hope you will come along and visit us sometime.
