Unless otherwise stated, evenings are Thursdays between 8pm and 10pm. We have access to the hall from 7.45 pm.

Smart Phone Workshop

Presented by Kathy Roddy - Part 1

Bring your phone or tablet along!
For those relatively new to smartphone photography, this will cover the basics of composition using a phone; tricks and tips; introducing different downloadable cameras e.g. macro cameras, slow shutter cameras, night/ low light cameras, HDR cameras; iPhone and android camera apps; basic photo-editing apps; and a variety of filters and effects to enhance your pictures.
There is a Smart Phone Competition on the 8th March 2018.

Most of us create our picture on digital devices and leave them stored on hard drives but how will they survive in a rapidly changing digital landscape? How should they be stored?
Hopefully you will enjoy a light hearted look at this question and possibly be led to do some innovation and experimentation. Maybe it will lead to some lively discussion as well.

Presented by Alex Hare

Professional photographer Alex, will show examples of his landscape and travel work and take you behind the photographs to learn how they were produced. Includes camera techniques, equipment, the creative process behind his shots and issues around originality and finding our own vision with our own landscape work.
Alex will also discuss his work in the context of the commercial side of his business and how that sits with the creative drive for freedom of expression within his photographs.
